Many pundits, economists, mutual/hedge fund managers, investment newsletter writers, among others in the investment community, think they can call what specific target or price a market index or stock may go to by a specific date, right? For instance, you may read in the Wall Street Journal that Mr. G predicts the S&P 500 index will reach the 6000 level by the end of 2025 or Ms. W thinks Apple will reach a $1000 stock price by the end of 2026. How about Mr. D who warns the DJIA will tank by 50% to the 20,000 level by 2027? We have heard and seen all these types of predictions too many times, as if they should be followed like The Ten Commandments and adhered to or else. Here, at Market Street Smarts, we will be the first to admit that we do not have that sacred crystal ball. Moreover, we realize that the market tends to fool most of the people most of the time anyway. Besides, those who know for sure when and where index targets/stock prices will be hit may be either delusional or, if not, they are deceiving themselves and the general public.
The market does not behave that way so why bother wasting your time? You will not find that with our service. You see, the market does not behave how we think or predict it "should.” No, of course not. Direction of a market is important for sure. But in reality, it marches to its own beat on its own time regardless of what any one of us thinks or wants it to do otherwise. The market is always a moving target. That is why obsessing over target levels on where the market is to go is futile, counterproductive, and arrogant. The reality is, timing is everything!
However, timing is extremely difficult to master. And that is precisely where Market Street Smarts comes in.
